When I was a Christian, even I thought that no loving being should have to be feared. So why is the Christian god called a loving god if he causes infinite punishment for finite “crimes”? For so much as believing in Allah. Ra, Zeus, etc., congrats, you get to go to Hell, where you get to scream, cry,…
Well, the truth is (which most don’t realize), is that in order for someone to spend forever in a tormenting Hell, God would have to give those persons, whom He’s doomed to everlasting punishment, his greatest gift, which he gives to all who are faithful to Him; everlasting life. You see, to punish them and keep them alive in Hell forever, He has to protect them from death (and the fire they are suppose to be tormented by) and keep them alive for eternity. Does that make sense, to protect an reward those you punished with your gift of everlasting life? No! This is totally out of harmony with the scriptures and who God is.
The reason it doesn’t make sense is because the majority of folks have not been taught the truth about Hell. A purposeful study of the Bible shows that the eternal torture (Hell) teaching is not based on the Bible. The Bible teaches that the Hebrew and Greek words Sheol and Hades, translated “Hell” in some versions of the Bible, is simply the grave (or Gehenna, which symbolizes everlasting destruction). However, since many are taught that Hell is a place of eternal torment, and not the grave, this has caused many to become confused and believe that the Hell in the Bible is a place of everlasting torment. The fact is, not all Bibles use the word Hell, because it conjures up the falsely taught doctrine of being tormented forever. So, instead they use properly translated words like Sheol, Hades, death, grave, etc..
Also, note what the Scriptures state: “The wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23) So, the punishment for sin is death, not burning in Hell. Also, at Genesis 3:19 God told Adam: “For dust you are and to dust you will return.” He never told Adam he would be going to Heaven, nor to Hell, but back to the dust where he came from.
The Scriptures also state: “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (Revelation 20:13 KJV). So, most people are taught that you are judged, and if judge to be bad you go to a fiery Hell of torment forever. However, this scripture shows that DEAD (lifeless) people will come out of Hell to be judge. Why? Because, once again Hell is just the common grave where people will be resurrected from.
Also, notice that Rev. 20:14 states: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” First off, why would Hell, if it were a place of eternal fiery torment be thrown into fire? It’s already suppose to be fiery. Secondly, the scripture is showing that just as death with be done away with, so will Hell; the grave. Why? Because since there is no more death, there will be no need for graves. Hence, “the lake of fire” is used to describe the total destruction of death and no need for graves (Hell – Sheol/Hades).
So, a person can spend forever dead, but not forever alive in a burning Hell, and never disintegrate, because God is protecting them and keep them alive forever…
The Hell fire doctrine is obviously not support by the Bible (God), but is a teaching of Satan. Its designed to make God out to be unloving and cruel, so people won’t want to serve Him. But, when a person learns the true about Hell, then their view of God is whole lot different…
Yes you are right, it does not make sense at all.
Why would God punish someone for eternity for the 70 years on earth ?
Why would God put Satan in charge of punishing people like himself.
Why would God even cooperate with such an evil force like Satan ?
The truth is that “hell” is made up by religion to scare people so they would come to church and pay money.
Religion even makes people pay money for their relatives who are in purgatory so they can come out and go to heaven . How bizarre while the word purgatory is not even in the Bible
The best way to find out about those things is to have a Bible study or if you like you can ask me any questions — [email protected] yahoo.com
For all my questions I often go to this link
Hi Moshe – When were you a Christian? A Christian is a follower of Christ. Christ taught the word of God and it says absolutely nothing about hell as a place of torment. That is a pagan myth.
Do you not think that Christians should read the bible? The first two chapters will clarify what God offered Adam. It wasn’t heaven or hell.
As it says in the Bible “For all have fallen short of the glory of God” which means all have sinned. The Bible also says “The wager for sin is death”. We all die because we’ve sinned and all sinners deserve to go to hell which means we all should go there. God sent Jesus to die on the cross so we had a choice. Pick Jesus and go to heaven, or ignore him and go to hell. I do kind of understand what you mean though.
A loving God wouldn’t. That is why I stopped believing in hell.
That’s like saying if your child disobey’s you, you’ll just pat him or her on the shoulder and say ‘well done’. How about that huh?
Anyway, you and I can only pose such a question once you’ve become a perfect being.
God sends no one to hell. It is our choice where we spend eternity.
even though your question is rude our loving God kept you alive even though u wrote rudely about him.isnt that a sign of his love towards YOU
People send themselves to hell.
He wouldn’t. If there is an eternal torture, only the God that the Westboro Baptist Church believe in would send people there.
