Scared of tribulation can a pastor help me?

Lately I’ve been so scared. I believe I am a christian, I believe in God and I pray to Him (Im baptist) But Im so scared, I know God is coming soon, and that means the tribulation and anti christ, its scaring me so mucn now, because i know from the tsunami, 9-11, katrina, now tornadoes in atlanta, God is…

I understand how terrifying that feeling is, my friend. In fact, that’s exactly what was being preached about the night I accepted the Lord as my Savior when I was a little girl!

Have you literally gone through the plan of salvation? Since you said you are a Baptist, I figure you know what I mean when I say the Roman Road…..have you done what the Bible says to do?

If not, please email me and I’ll be happy to give you the scriptures to go through. If you have already accepted Jesus, then you need assurance of that salvation. I’ve found that reading first John is quite helpful when someone has doubts about their salvation – maybe that would help you, as well.

My prayers are with you – remember, you can email me anytime you wish. God Bless.

Ashley,
The Christian will not go through the tribulation period. The Holy Spirit must be taken out of this world before the Tribulation will begin (2Thess. 2:7; Revelation 3:10 [to the church age Christian]; Revelation 4:1 describes the rapture, and the events of the Tribulation are described as those things which shall occur hereafter)

Concerning your fears of His return, and of Him, there are many possible answers.
Sin will separate us from the close fellowship with God. 1John chapter 1 gives this indication strongly. But at the end of 1John 1, verse 9 states that He will forgive if we only confess our sins. Keep in mind, 1,2,3John are all three written to Christians.
There is also fear of the unknown. There is a certain amount of apprehension, especially in young people of the unknown. What will Heaven be like? What will it be like to meet Christ? What will God look like…?
Paul said “to live is Christ and to die is gain.” All that we will lose – physical fun and happiness; the daily activities that we enjoy so much; relationships as here on earth… also the pain, the sorrow, etc.; will be replaced by an wonderful blissful eternity with the very one who died to forgive your sins, and Who loves you, and Who desires that you would be with Him in eternal joy.
Do you know for sure you are saved?
Take care of that first. If you are saved, ask God to “search my heart” (Psalm 51); after you have done that, study the Scritpures for the love of God.
Keep in mind, Paul said “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2Tim 3:12) We will not see the tribulation, but that does not mean no sorrow here on earth. The Israelites went through the first of the plagues with the Egyptians so that God could get them to desire to leave the land for the much better land of Israel. It was not until the plague of flies (Exodus 8:22) that God separated the Israelites from the plagues.
God wants us in heaven, but he wants no prisoners there.

Personally, I don’t believe that any of the present day events have anything to do with the tribulation. I believe that the tribulation is still an event that will happen in the future.

Having said that, there are many Christians who would disagree with me but we can agree to disagree and still have fellowship with one another.

I can identify with your fears because I used to feel that way too to some extent when I was a new Christian.First of all you need to believe the promises of God.

When you’re afraid pick up your Bible and find the things He has promised us in those scriptures and say those scriptures back to Him in prayer that You know He is the truth and that these are His words and He cannot lie to us.

Read John 10:27-30 Jesus has given us eternal life and no one can take us out of His hand.

Matthew 28:20 Jesus promised to be with us always

Read Ephesians 2:8 &9 We are saved by grace not by our works.

Romans 8:28 God promises that He uses the events of our lives for our benefit.

The opening to the book of Job tells us that even when Satan wants to attack us directly he has to go to God to get permission. Nothing will happen to us that is outside of God’s will.

Romans 8:34-39 Paul writes that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Paul tells us that some of the “bad” stuff we go through is so that when we meet another Christian who is going through the same kind of stuff that we can offer them help, hope, and encouragement.

Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus will never change.

I would recommend that you change your focus from the negative stuff to the positive.

I would suggest reading Psalm 1; 23; 100; 103; 104; Philippians 4 and the gospel of John

calm down asheley.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
1) when you study the Bible, accept the limits of revelation. This means, the Bible will not answer all your questions right away. Chief among everyones unanswered questions is “Why do bad things happen to good people?” We dont know. But its part of Gods plan.
2) These things that you mention have been going on since the beginning, tornados, tsunamis, etc. This may signal the end, or it may not. We dont know.
3) Even Jesus didnt know when the world would end. Find the verse where he says “Only my Father in Heaven knows the exact hour.”

Now if jesus said THAT, what of all these other “prophets” who cry “The End is Near.” I’d call em “False Prophets.”

The Tribulation series is just a story, NOT a Biblical prophecy. And the authors will tell you that.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding…
Read up on the Rapture of the Church in scriptures.
You will see that God loves us enough to keep us from the Great Tribulation Period.

Cast ALL your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Tsunami, 9-11 and all the rest are just the warm-up. By the time the Great Trib gets here, the church is in heaven with the Lord.
Study Revelation…
(www.joncourson.com is a good one)
…and you will see that the church is not mentioned in the book from chapter 4, until chapter 19. Read and study the Word, and all your fears will be diminished.

If you have confessed and you believe you ARE saved, talk to your pastor, pray for God to give you peace, obviously the devil is bugging you so you must be saved! The devil wouldn’t bother with you if you were lost,so rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus and tell him you trust in the Lord.
You will not be here during the tribulation period none of God’s children will be.

Matthew 24:30-31
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven:and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with great power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect(believers)from the four winds, form one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:40-41
40 Then shall two be in the field and the one shall be taken and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill;one taken the other left.

God will not leave us here during the tribulation. He has already promised that he will rapture us all up to heaven and leave the unbelievers here to deal with the mess.

Then Christ will reign for two thousand years. I look forward to the Rapture every day of my life, because I know I’m saved and I trust Christ.

God keeps His promises – just ask Noah! 🙂

You just do your best and trust God for the rest. If you are doing your best, you are not going to get left behind. Here’s a hint: Your best doesn’t mean that you are never going to sin again. Potty training doesn’t happen over night. The very fact that you have that fear tells me that you have nothing to fear. Now, consider this: Suppose the rapture doesn’t happen. Best thing is to be ready for it to go either way. Teachings on the rapture are ambiguous, and it is never mentioned in the book of Revelation. You just do your best to bring glory to God, and you will be in his favor. What more can a person ask?

Hi Ashley,
I just want to tell you the God loves you SO MUCH!! He will take care of His children…and you are His child. He will not give you anything that you cannot handle with His help. Here are some promises to show you that:
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinth. 12:9
“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.” Psalm 34:7
” I can do ALL THINGS through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil. 4:13
One more thing….God does not lie….Titus 1:2

I will pray for you to not be afraid but to trust that God will keep His promises and take care of you.

Would you leave your kids unprotected in the middle of something like what is about to happen? Do you think God is a better Father than anyone? Then why would He leave his kids here to be tortured? He won’t. If your doing something you know is wrong then “STOP IT”. If you can’t do it on your own get help right away. Have you asked Jesus to be your Lord to be obeyed and savior to be adored? If so then your fine as long as you obey the Lord. Doc
