There seems to be loads of great boys names in the Bible but not so many girls names, the only decent ones seem to be Hannah and Rebecca but these are used so much!
Do you know any Biblical girls names or names that may mean something related to this?
Thanks for your help in advance!
I agree, I love some of the boys names such as Noah, Isaac and Elijah but not so keen on the girls names. I do really like Eve/Evie though, aboslutely love it, I think Evie Grace sounds so pretty. I also like Leah, Bethany, Sara and ofcourse there is Abigail and Rachael too but they’re quite common. Elizabeth is a very common, traditional name but there’s so many cute nicknames like Ellie, Elle, Liza, Beth, Eliza, Elize, Liz, Lizzie, so this is always an option. And I think names like Hope and Joy can been nice as middle names too.
Rachael, Sarah, Judith, Ruth, Abigail, Theresa, Mary, Eden
Ruth. According to an episode of Friends,it’s an old fashioned name but I quite like it. And that was a few years ago,so maybe it’s back in style.
There’s Delilah, of course, but that may carry too much baggage.
My best suggestion…you can use places or names of places. I had a friend who named her daughter Havalah after a river I beleive I think in the bible it meant rover of gold though this is the Hebrew translation. That’s my other suggestion…you can research Hebrew names since Jesus was Jewish it’s a really amazing archive of names to look into. Best of luck 🙂
Tamar – Meaning Palm Tree (2 Sam chapter13)
Talitha- which roughly translated from the Hebrew means little girl.
Some of the more traditional ones are lovely too; Ruth, Judith and Miriam are lovely I think.
I kind of like Mary paired with the middle name Elizabeth. Mary Beth?
Well there’s Mary of course, but it’s really boring.
Abigail and Eve are quite nice.
Ruth is another one
